I like the whale plates, but I must be honest that I’m glad you can’t get personalized plates here in Mexico or else I’d be fuming about them a lot more often than I’m comfortable admitting I would .

It’s just the Model 3 18" aero wheel covers:
Admittedly not the greatest looking, but eh, I’ve seen much worse, and if you really hate it, you can take the covers off, at which point they look like this:
I still think the original Model S aero wheels looked better though:
Also, it’s possible to

The vanity plate and stupid chrome plate frame are bad. The car and wheels aren’t.

What’s wrong with personalized plates?

I think DMVs shouldn’t be wasting their time with them , plus, as a product, license plates are meant to standardize all vehicles in a system, the notion of personalizing them goes against part of their intended purpose.
I appreciate that your M3 has (or had, you moved states I think?) personalized plates, and you did it tastefully , you have a short message about your car, not bad! B ut all of these tesla people saying versions of “Lol gas” or “bye petrol” make me think that the owner is a twat.

I had to ditch the plate when I moved to another state and it’s not as easy to get a personalized plate here. I am going to try to “E90 M3" here as well.
Personalized plates seem to strike a cord with some people, you at least have valid reasons to not like them.

that reminds me of the Total Recall scene...

Well, it is a very specific text so it might be taken already.
I f it is taken , you could go truly low-key you could ask for a plate with the engine code instead (S 65B 40), that way people that appreciate M cars will give you the “I see what you did there!” look.

I see it as a sign if the driver is a major douche nozzle or not.
Sorta like political bumper stickers, they give you a heads up of what's inside the car.

Yeah I need to think of a few before I submit the application . That will probably be one of them along with “6MT E90"

That reminds me, I saw two T eslas yesterday without vanity plates. I felt like I was in the twilight zone....

Not sure if he’s normally that much of a fucktrumpet or not but not sure why he’s picking this hill to die on

Not always. He has always been a little snarky but i think the undeniable smugness of this plate must have ticked him off.

Yup, there’s the implication that the owner’s doing his part (and telling everyone s/he is), and the rest of us aren’t.
